So I have a Keurig. Love it. I love a nice dark roast and love Starbucks Sumatra. I normally buy the k-cups.

I have a re-usable pod thingy and I swear - my coffee just isn't strong as it is when I use the k cup.

I've tried very dark coffee in the re-usable pod and different brands. Still the same - watered down taste.

This happen to anyone else? Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong? It's a shame because it would be so much cheaper to use the reusable pod.

Do you fill the reusable K-cup? I know the directions call for 2 TBSP (I think?) but I always use 3-4.

Yeah I fill it up completely. Maybe I need to pack it more. I just saw a related thread with the same issue below. Maybe I will try that.

I do find them messy though Chat Icon there's always grinds everywhere!

I found that the Keurig brand one made weak coffee but the Ecobrew one makes it nice and dark. For me the trick was only filling it 3/4 of the way.

It's most likely the grind, it has to be pretty fine. You have to get it at the actual starbucks and let them grind it and say its for a k-cup. Fill up the k-cup all the way and gently press it so its compact but not too much.

My DH is a starbucks kcup coffee snob so been there done that... lots of trial and errors until we got it right lol.

This is what I do as well-make sure the grind is very fine!
