I know this is going to sound so naive, but he just did not seem like the type or LOOK like he had a drug problem of this magnitude.

I totally agree....We are so used to seeing absolute trainwrecks when it comes to celebs and drug/alcohol addiction that I think that's why this seems so shocking

 Addiction is a disease that does not discriminate. I feel badly that poor Lea Michele will blame herself, because she was away with friends in Mexico all week while he was in Vancouver. It seems she was really his grounding, positive influence. This is such a tragic story.

I have to say unless this was a relapse it is impossible to seriously date someone who does all these drugs and not dabble yourself, don't be surprised if she 'partied' right along side him. Hollywood is another world and a lot people do drugs..
eta: I hate to sound cynical but all those prescription drugs...I mean if it is true that is a lot of drugs to go find in one day on a relapse, more likely you are taking then regularly maybe the coke and alcohol were added in...

I have to agree with this.
It is just another level in Hollywood. I truly want to believe he wanted to get rid of these demon struggles because he was so open about his addiction and got help himself.
However, I'm not 100% convinced she wasn't indulging in his habits with him. I don't think to the extreme he was by any means. Something about her makes me think that she adores her career a lot more to throw it away to drugs.
This entire story just makes me so sad. Drugs have no discrimination and will break you down until there is no more of you to break down.

It sounds like he died the same way Heath Ledger died by mixing too much stuff.

Regardless of what he was mixing, he was 31 years old and its a damn shame. He was definitely one of my favorite characters on that show and I'm really shaken up about his death. I feel like its such a tremendous loss- much like Heath Ledger and River Phoenix. Its not like Lindsey Lohan or Amanda Bynes who are just train wrecks and you almost expect something to happen to them. I feel so blind-sided by this.

I totally agree. I remember seeing him on Oprah and he told a story about how he would sing in the shower and that was his only experience with singing. I loved his character and loved seeing him and Lea together. I can't imagine what she is going through. It is so sad. I wonder how they will deal with it on the show.
