Ah who cares? They're in a whole other world/lifestyle than others. Whatever works.

^I agree. Big whoop, they're letting their kids be creative and try things. If it was a little girl wearing typical boy clothes or having a "boy"-type haircut, no one would care.

I think it's cool that she encourages them to experiment.

I will give it my usual reaction to her. Sorry but if this was Britney people would be all over her. Or anyone else for that matter.

Re: gwen stefani and family
Ridiculous. When people defend it saying "to each their own" I don't get it. A little boy doesn't need to have dramatic eyeliner on. I think its just stupid quite honestly and I rolled my eyes the second I saw it.

girl or boy...i wouldn't be putting eyeliner on my kids that young...kids can express themselves in plenty of other age appropriate ways

My thoughts exactly. Which tells me someone is actually doing his makeup for him. I think that's a bit much for a 7 year old- boy OR girl.

Exactly. Or a little girl wearing mommy's make-up would be fine, too. It doesn't bother me.

Re: gwen stefani and family
The kid's eyeliner didn't bother me as much as Gwen't hair cut.
Looks like she lets her kids experiment with scissors too- on her hair!

This pic, right?

Yeah, I think that's a nanny or something. Gwen is standing behind her.

Re: gwen stefani and family
I don't care that he's a boy that's wearing makeup but I don't think kids should be wearing make up so young. I wasn't allowed to wear makeup until middle school. I think kids are little once and we are in such a rush to let them grow up, I think they should just be little. I mean, we were allowed to play with my moms make up at home and play dress up and wear plastic heels and stuff like that but at home, we weren't allowed to leave the house like that. I also feel the same way about his hair.. Same thing, not a boy issue, just a little kid issue. I wasn't allowed to dye my hair or get highlights until I was older either and I'm a girl. I get that he's artsy and the son of rockers and he wants to experiment and I'm all for that, but in different ways that are age appropriate. He has plenty of time for that stuff later on, just let him be little! My son has a very, very natural music talent and he's 3. We encourage this by getting him musical instruments, he loves playing his guitar, he loves watching live music and watching concerts on tv. He sits down with his guitar in front of these concerts and studies how the musician holds the guitar, what he does with his hands, how he turns the pages of the music, what he does with the mic and even his feet. We encourage his talent but at the same time I let him take the lead and see what he wants to do, to a point. I kind of feel like maybe the parents are the ones in this situation that are pushing the bleaching and makeup maybe for a shock value or for him to be cool and maybe the idea came from them and not him. I mean, wasn't he VERY young when they started bleaching his hair? Once again, I don't care that he's a boy, that's not the issue. Bleach on a little kids sensitive skin is too much and bleach is an older kid thing, let him be little.

Have you read the posts on Brad & Angie's daughter Shiloh? Or the one below with Eric Dane and his daughter Billie?
it definitely goes both way.
But I guess because he's the son of "rock stars"...it's different.

No, I thought that was her at first but then realized she is behind her- with the uneven mess on her head. This chick looks like someone attacked her with a buzzer.

Re: gwen stefani and family
Whatever. These kids will be in the spotlight regardless, and be judged. May as well have fun and do what they want. If my DS wanted to do this if we were hanging out, I would let him. It's makeup. It washes off. I've asked him sometimes if he wants black nail polish when I get my nails done and he watches me do my makeup and is interested in it. These kids are surrounded by glamour and are encouraged to pursue their interests. What's the big deal? They will grow up however way they grow up regardless.
