Disney Deluxe Hotels

Which Disney deluxe hotel is your favorite? I was looking into Beach Club, Yacht Club and Bay Lake Tower, but looking for other opinions too.

We used to stay at Beach Club every year for about 4 years, then took a chance on Bay Lake Tower and loved it! Staying at Bay Lake again this year. The rooms are so modern & spacious. If you have a theme park view, you can see the fireworks from your room every night. Nothing beats taking the monorail or even walking to Magic Kingdom. Beach Club has an aweswome pool and a short walk to Epcot.

I'm a big fan of the Polynesian. You can't beat the location and the theming. I stayed at the Contemporary in the beginning of June and while viewing the fireworks from our balcony was amazing, I still like the Polynesian better. I got a better Disney experience at the Poly.

If you want to be near the MK I like the poly or bay lake for convenience. I like the beach club for epcot area hotels.

Re: Disney Deluxe Hotels

My personal favorite is Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is my favorite resort that I have ever stayed at anywhere. I love waking up with giraffes outside my window and being able to enjoy my evening tea while watching the animals do their thing. I also love all of the resort activities and interacting with the cast members who love to talk about their homes in Africa. Animal Kingdom Lodge is also home to some of the best food in Walt Disney World.

With that said, I think the "best" resort definitely depends on your personal wants and needs.

For convenience a monorail resort can't be beat. The Polynesian is my favorite monorail resort based on theme, but the Contemporary/Bay Lake Towers can't be beat when it comes to proximity to Magic Kingdom and the size convenient size of the resort.

If you're an Epcot fan than the Beach Club is a great option too.

During the holidays, I love the Wilderness Lodge and the Grand Floridian.

The deluxe resorts are all awesome and all offer their own pros and "cons".

Re: Disney Deluxe Hotels

Thanks everyone for the info and feedback :)

Kerri, I looked at photos of Animal Kingdom Lodge and it looks beautiful. My girls do not care for animals which means there would be a lot of screaming and crying because they would be scared. I'm sure the animals aren't that close, but they'd still be afraid.

As a family, we love Magic Kingdom and Epcot so that's why we are considering one of the hotels I mentioned. Plus, I was also thinking about The Polynesian.

I need to price it out. We're thinking of going the end of March or early May. Trying to figure out which time is better, crowd wise and price wise. I tried looking it up on the disney world website but it freezes every time I go on.

When I have a quiet moment without my DD's I'll have to give them a call.

I normally stay at the yacht club or beach club. Because we love the pool. But this may we stayed at the beach club it was a little rundown. The rooms could use some updating. I would suggest the yacht club over the beach club. I have never stayed at the boardwalk but heard good things about it

I would avoid Animal Kingdom Lodge if the little ones don't like animals. There are plenty of other places that would be great for you.

I am a Disney vacation planner, and there are no fees for any of my services. It'd be my pleasure to help you plan the trip so that you do not need to worry about the website freezing or waiting on hold. I can also help plan which dates work best for you based on predicted crowd levels and help plan an itinerary to make managing any crowds easier.
The 2014 package rates will be released on July 10th.

If you mention LIF when you book a package you will also receive a free gift on top of my personalized concierge services.

Feel free to send me a message on here or via email I am also available by phone.

I think you're looking at the right resorts based on what you want. I'm pretty partial to the ones you originally mentioned (Beach and Yacht Club and Bay Lake Tower/Contemporary Resort) because you can actually WALK to the parks from them. Any time you can walk to a part from your hotel, I am a HAPPY camper.

The proximity to Magic Kingdom (and Magic Kingdom View should you choose to upgrade) make the Contemporary and Bay Lake Tower my favorites. if your family loves to swim, then Beach and Yacht Club have the fabulous Stormalong Bay which is the best pool on property. It's really a mini-waterpark of its own.

In the past year I've actually stayed at both Beach Club and Bay Lake Tower, so you have good taste.

I will say that most of my first timers looking for a Deluxe resort do choose the Polynesian. It has such a classic theme, great dining, an awesome pool, and an incredible view of the fireworks right from the beach (no upgraded view needed!).

Because of Spring Break, Early May will be the less crowded time for you.

2014 packages come out TOMORROW, so if you want to start pricing, please just fill out the simple form below!

There is a limited number of rooms that have a partial view of Wishes. You can request one of those rooms but it's only a request and not guaranteed. So, honestly, when people ask my that question my short answer is no. A limited view of fireworks is a bonus, but don't expect it.

The good news is that at Wilderness lodge you can take a quick boat ride to the Contemporary to try to get a spot at the 4th floor viewing area (semi blocked by the monorail), or take the boat to the Contemporary to take the resort monorail to watch wishes from the beach at the Polynesian. I know that's not an answer you want to her, but you do have options.

I think you're working with MTT Kimberly for your trip. She's actually an expert on Wilderness Lodge and it's her family's favorite resort, so she is a great resource.

We LOVED LOVED LOVED the Animal Kingdom Lodge HOWEVER our DD is completely and utterly obsessed with animals so it made complete sense for us.
IF she was scared I would avoid it.
