Cute anniversary ideas or traditions?
Dh and I will be celebrating our first anniversary this August. We're both a sucker for traditions, and I feel this is the perfect time to start new ones
Do you have any anniversary ideas/traditions?

Re: Cute anniversary ideas or traditions?
on our first anniversary, we went out east and ate at the North Fork Table Inn. The meal was amazing, as was the dessert. When there, we learned that it the chefs (regular chef and pastry chef) both were nominated (and later won) James Beard Awards.
Since we cannot go back to that restaurant ever year b/c of travel and timing, we did decide that for each anniversary we would eat at a James Beard award winning restaurant.
I know it sounds corny, but it's a tradition we think we can keep. There tons of restaurants in NYC that have gotten awards. And this year, we were in Chicago for our anniversary and there were a few spots to pick from there too.
Aside from that, no other anniversary tradition...except incorporating the "recommended" type of gift (e.g., paper, cotton, leather, etc.)...

Re: Cute anniversary ideas or traditions?
Well, I started out with those traditional gifts...paper, etc. I should have known I'm not so organized as to keep up with all that!
But anyway, every year (9 now!) I wear my veil all evening, I light our unity candle (is that what it was even called? seemed like such a big deal at the time...), we dance to our wedding song, and we look through our album (now with the kids ). Oh, and we toast with our wedding flutes (which we never actually brought to the wedding. ).
We've also recently begun a new tradition...since #8 we go to the local Mexican restaurant and get lit off Margaritas!

For the past 2 anniversaries we get the brand of champagne we had at our wedding, and break out our toasting flutes and watch our wedding video. This past anniversary we were away, so we watched our wedding trailer on YouTube instead

For each anniversary I have the bakery re-create the top tier of our wedding cake (smaller version). We eat cake and watch our wedding video :)

The only tradition we have is drinking champagne out of our toasting flutes from the wedding. We will be celebrating 8 years in September. We used to watch our wedding video too, but since having DD we are too exhausted and end up falling alseep watching it. Haha.

We dance to our wedding song on the morning of our anniversary and watch the recap of our video.
Nothing crazy but I love it

Cute anniversary ideas or traditions?
Our anniversary tradition is to take the day off from work and plan a fun day together. We try to plan something that we do not usually have an opportunity to do on a regular basis. We make dinner reservations at a fancy restaurant and get dressed up. It is an awesome day alone that allows us to reconnect!

Re: Cute anniversary ideas or traditions?
I wear my veil all day around the house... my just married tank top... we look at our wedding video and photo album... we drink champagne and do something special for dinner...
i was married in august but it was hard because for our 1st wedding anniversary we went back to our honeymoon spot. now #1- that was too hard of a tradition to continue and #2- our daughter was born on anniversary year 2 at the same exact time, so we were celebrating in the hospital. now her 1st birthday is taking place instead of anything for us.... LOL... it is what it is!! make a small special tradition so u can keep to it no matter what!
