How much would you pay for a "babysitter"?

My 13yo neighbor will be assisting me with DD this Friday for about 4 hours. Is $8/hr okay? Too cheap?

I would pay $10 but that would be the normal rate out here.

The 13yo is assisting her. I know some who pay $10 an hour for an adult and they are alone!

If she is more of a Mother's helper and 13, I would say $5 or $6. I pay $10 for an actual sitter.

I think anywhere between $5-$7 is fine considering she's not really babysitting but more of a mother's helper. Is it for one child?

When my 13 yo neice helps out with DD I just give her $20 - which is probably$5 an hour. I know she is family but she is young and not the one with all the responsibility of watching DD only helping out.

I pay my 14 yr old niece $4-$5 an hour to mothers helper my twins. We go out and I buy lunch and admissions to places. We went to riverhead aquarium this morning and lunch was $20.00

I will probably give her $25 for the day. (from 10-5) Usually I don't go by the hour so much as what we do... so it will be $15, $20, $25 etc. for however much time for that day.
