This bugged me

We were at stop and shop yesterday and when we were on line I took note of one of the celeb mags (I think it was Us Weekly) where it listed celeb moms with their picture and graded them on their parenting. I think Tori Spelling was D- and Angelina Jolie was an A (with "mother of the year").

I don't know, this just rubbed me the wrong way a little. Grading moms?

Any thoughts?

I'd think that too.

But look it worked, by putting Tori at a D that gets us to pick up and read the article.

oh man that bugged me too. I didnt even bother to pick it up (which I always do when waiting online at the store). It actually kinda upset me. Who grades ppl for this? Is there even a scale of what it means to be a better parent? WTF?

ummm, obviously I am still annoyed... hehe

I saw that too and was annoyed. It said on the cover Tori got a D because she mocked her crying child lol.

Re: This bugged me

Angelina Jolie got an A. They said she was a great mom because she underwent a double mastectomy, and she wanted to make sure she didn't die from breast cancer and that she'd be around for her kids.

Not to make light of her choice to have surgery, but it takes more than that to be a good mom.

Re: This bugged me

I remember seeing reports about how angelina kept pushing her child to be a tomboy bc she had a dream of this "rainbow family" and she would make her daughter wear the boys hand me down clothes including their underwear. I don't know how true that is or if i even really believe it...but it honestly wouldn't shock me. She seems like a twisted woman. I used to LOVE her. But she seems very cold and calculated.

I think the whole homewrecker thing ruined her for me.

ETA: as far as the mastectomy is concerned, it means she made a smart decision about her health...doesn't necessarily really mean that she did it selflessly for her kids, even if that's what she tells the public. Not saying she didn't genuinely do it for her kids...but that shouldn't be the measure of a good mother bc there are many factors that could have weighed in on that decision, it just so happens that the kids benefit from the decision so it's a win / win regardless.

Re: This bugged me

January Jones got a B+ for no other reason than she ate her own placenta Chat Icon . If that's the standard they are using, I just got a big 'ole F!!!

It's a bizarre piece - they take one little piece of their lives and judge them as mothers. Quite pathetic.
