Places to go with 10 month old twin suggestions PLEASE

Hello,
My twins will be 10 months the 10th of June. They are not walking yet and are just sitting up by themselves and scooting. They have been cooped up all winter and my husband and I are eager to get them out this season. We went to White Post Farms and it was a debacle. We strolled them around in the stroller and they weren't able to see much. My son cried when he saw the animals and then he started getting red because of the sun and he is fair skinned. Last weekend we took the twins to the aquarium. It went ok, my daughter liked to look at the fish while my son didn't care for it. Where do you suggest we take our kids at this age? Thank You

Honestly there may not be many places! I have a 10 month old, also not walking! It is very hard to take him places as he still gets very fussy sometimes and my DH an I do not have a good time dealing with him if we are out. We also have a toddler to chase after. If I were you I would try to go to places that are free in case you have to leave early, etc. walking around at fairs, etc. I just got my baby the step 2 push buggy and he was much happier sitting on it that being in the stroller!

I feel your pain. I have 11 mo triplets and while being couped up all winter was awful, our few attempts at outings have been as unsuccessful as what you described! We did have relative luck with the queens county farm museum which is a quick trip, nice wide paths, ad you can get close to the animals. If the babies aren't feeling it, it's easy to just turn around and go home. Go during the week if you can - it is less crowded. We have also had some luck with places that have contained indoor toddler/baby play areas like the Brooklyn children's museum though of course these are germ pits! I have never been but heard cradle of aviation had a nice playroom. Good luck!

At that age we really didnt go many places with the twins. We took them to the aquarium this January at 14m adjusted and it was a hit.

At that age I took DD to the library a ton. There are several sets of twins I've seen and they do fine. I would take DD to the Holtsville Ecology Site and we also did the Suffolk County Farm. If I'm on my own with DD I put her in the carrier so she can see better. I also do local parks even though I usually only stay long enough to let her swing for a little while.

I don't know how well they would sit but maybe getting a wagon with two seats (and straps) and a cover would work well. You could take it to the park, walk around the block, etc. and it would be a nice change from the stroller. For DD, anything different and anything that lets her see better is a hit.

Honestly, I think she had just as much fun at Target or the supermarket at that age. She loved riding in the cart and interacting with all the people that stop to talk to her.

We mostly did the park, walks through the neighborhood, library, storytime at a local bookstore, stores for errands etc.

I think twins can be a challenge to go anywhere (meltdowns, overpacking, crawling in two different directions, more babies than hands available, etc), but the more you go out, the easier it becomes for both you and the little ones. Good luck!
