How long to get photos?

I had DD's newborn photos taken 2 1/2 weeks ago and I haven't even gotten a teaser. I emailed the photographer twice to check on the status and no response. Do I have a right to be annoyed? She had said we would get the pics in 2 weeks, and it was 2 weeks last Friday.

Update: So I still haven't received the pics. I want to email her and ask her to send them by tomorrow, but I don't want to be rude. It was 3 weeks ago today that she did the shoot and still not even a teaser. What should I say? Thanks!

Yeah I'd be annoyed. I got a teaser within 24hrs but then my phitographer's son got sick so it took 3w to get photos but she had let me know about the delay.

I got mine within two days. That's rude since you obviously want those pics while the baby is still a newborn.

Not anyone that people on here use. That was probably my mistake!

Exactly. I keep telling her I need them for the birth announcement.

the zero response is not acceptable. If they can't get to their emails at least but an away message away saying something.

exactly, I remember you saying you bought a groupon from a photographer? I don't know if this is who you used but he/she might be inundated with clients and just not able to handle it all (this has happened to a photographer I know, he has since abstained from groupons)

Other than that, it is highly unprofessional to not respond in any capacity. Perhaps they had a family emergency or is sick and just can't bring themselves to sit in front of the computer, but still you have clients who paid you for work and you have a contractual obligation to respond.

Do they have a phone # you can try to call?

It wasn't with a groupon.

I sent another email and she responded "hopefully this week." I learned that in the future I should negotiate to pay them when the pics are ready, bc now I have no leverage with her.

Did you have a contract? That's leverage, the power of social media is also leverage

No contract and of course I could post something but would rather wait until I get the pics.

Bump for updated question. I am afraid if I am not nice in the email she will take even longer or not edit the pics well, so I want to be nice, but I also want to let her know I am not happy with how long it is taking. I don't think 3 weeks for newborn pics is a reasonable amount of time, especially considering she told us 2 weeks.
