Birthday party invite from schoolmate

Stupid question....
So, I am a FTWM and DS has never really done any "playdates" or been invited to a classmates birthday party before, so this is kind of new territory for me.
DS got invited to the 4th birthday of a classmate. I have briefly spoken to the mom - months ago - and I see the kid once in a while.
The invite was an Evite. It only had on the front To my name and DS. But doesn't mention DH. The party is at a park -I'm guessing it's probably cake and running around for a couple of hours. I went to respond that we will go - but would it be bad for DH to show up with me? We generally do stuff with DS together on the weekends. The evite thing asks for a number attending. Ugh, I know this is so dumb, but I just don't want to look rude.

I would never be bothered by an additional parent showing up. I've seen both parents show up to many, many parties. Honestly, it's the bringing of additional SIBLINGS that generates 4 page long debates on LIF

I think you are totally fine to bring DH! Just watch the cues and eat accordingly.

I have been to parties where there is clearly not enough food/cake/cupcakes for the parents. Most parties we go to serve parents! Just make sure DH does not take a cupcake if there clearly aren't enough for all.
