MMR reaction- does this sound right?
DS is 5 and had his MMR booster on Monday. Last night, he woke up screaming, spiked a 104 fever, and vomited any water and medicine we tried to give.
I brought him to the ER, they managed to get his fever down and fluids in him. We have been home for several hours, the fever is gone, energy and appetite are back.
The last time this happened was when he was 2, and had his first MMR shot. The same exact thing happened! High fever and nausea two days later, then he was fine.
I always heard that the reactions came over a week after the shot, and comes with a rash. But I found it strange that the same thing happened each time he got this particular shot!

MMR reaction- does this sound right?
I think the reaction can come anywhere from 1 day-2 weeks after the vaccination. So yes, this does seem normal.

Thank you! I am hoping that is what it was, and it is short-lived. Poor little guy just had a respiratory virus a few weeks ago.

Chelsea had a fever the day after her booster and then it was gone the next day and she was fine.
