Anyone else having an OUTDOOR party on Saturday?
WAAH! Weather not looking great. We rented a tent/tables etc but I'm thinking we may have to move indoors. It's at my sister's house and luckily she has the space but it's just not how I pictured DD's 1st bday party. Going to be cramped. And we hited entertainment that would have much more space outside. 
Am I freaking out too early??

Anyone else having an OUTDOOR party on Saturday?
For my DS' first birthday it poured buckets of rain. Thank god for that tent! It saved the party!
ETA: the rain definitely didn't hinder the atmosphere of the party. Everyone had such a great time and kept dry thanks to the tent.

I hope the weather clears up for you. We're having a "summer fun" themed 1st bday party in our backyard in June, and I'm already worried about the weather!

I don't want everyone just stuck in their seats in a tent...and there's a lot of kids who I know won't sit still, which is why we decided on a home party vs a restaurant. But my sister has a great playroom/basement and I guess it will all work out.

I agree. Set up some activity tables/things to do for the kiddies in the basement as a back up plan!!

Anyone else having an OUTDOOR party on Saturday?
My SIL is having my newphew's 1st bday party saturday....they may use tarps in the backyard area (it's not that big...its a city backyard). If worse comes to worse then it will be inside. Hopefully it holds out.

We are having DS's 2nd birthday party on Saturday in our backyard. Worst case scenario we cancel the bounce house and move the party indoors, but I am hoping the weather holds out!

We were all fine under the tent! It was really nice and not bad at all!!

Not a birthday party but we had our engagement party at my parents house and it POURED buckets and buckets! People went back and forth between the tent and the house and it was totally fine. I would say the older people stayed mostly outside and sat and talked, while the kids went back and forth. I was freaking out but it worked out totally fine!

I know LOTS of people having outdoor Communion parties this Saturday and they are all freaking out. Luckily ours will be indoors

When I read this post the first thing I thought of was my cousins engagement party, years ago. It poured and there was a crazy thunderstorm. We all just hung out under the tent and it was fine!
You gotta make the best of it. It is what it is. But I do hope the weather holds off for you

This is why i vowed to never have an outdoor party ever again!! Its stressful enough planning a party but to throw the weather variable onto the mix is enough to make you crazy!!
Dont lose hope yet the weather can still change. I hope it does for you!

Well, we decided we are going to make the tent a big play area for the kids! We'll leave some tables up for whoever wants to sit and eat out there, but make an area for them to play, for the entertainment to do their thing and for kiddies to eat. And I found the cutest shirt for older DD to wear with umbrellas all over it.

Outdoor parties are actually much more fun as compared to the ones we have in halls. You can have your own style of table setup and table decorations. I recently had a chance to be at a friend’s wedding reception which was outdoor event and trust me it was wonderful. The table set up they had done was awesome. They had done table covers from Sculptware which was spandex material but looked fantastic.

We were, but moved it to my Mom's house so we can have it inside. Our house is kind of small and no place for the 7 kids to really play. I didn't want to wait til the last minute because we have to notify people. Oh well, maybe one day I will get to have my own kid's party at my own house...
