I have not heard it yet.
I typically swing towards artists that actually write their own music - or, at least, a good 90% of it.
You should love it though - being a Pearl Jam fan, since Eddie Vedder wrote some tracks. And since it is produced by Ben Harper with some other writers such as Jeff Buckley, Dan Wilson, and even the Jayhawks... it's a Vedder-centric crowd of people so I would think you or any Pearl Jam fan would love it!
It's just funny, she's got so much to say in interviews all the time yet she can't seem to manage to actually pen a track. Odd.

That's why I'm so intrigued - because of the circle of folks surrounding the album. I do really like her, have seen the Dixie Chicks in concert and all. I don't know why she doesn't write her own music...guess some people are just performers, not songwriters. I'd be interested to see what she has to offer as a writer.

Sadly, nope.
Out of the 15 tracks featured on their smash hit album "Home" - only one song was co-written by Maines, she was the third co-writer, the other two chicks were the ones who really penned the one song.
Out of the 14 tracks on their big album "Fly" she also was credited with only co-writing ONE of the 14 tracks.
She was never cited on any of the albums as being a lead writer or having written one solely on her own.
And, lastly, their biggest selling album "Wide Open Spaces" she had nothing to do with not a single one of the 12 songs on that album - not even as a collaborator or a co-writer.
So, the next time she wants to criticize my husband, errrr, I mean my favorite person of all time Toby Keith - maybe she should actually put her money where her mouth is and WRITE a song or two. Then, she can judge someone else's music - especially someone who has had a flourishing career for over 20 years and has written 99.9% of every single thing he's ever released. Because, if someone is just a performer, that's fine but usually those people don't go trashing artists who actually WRITE their own music as well as perform it. Rubs me the wrong way.

I think you're forgetting their Grammy-winning album "Taking the Long Way," which they did co-write and had amazing success with.
