Food for 1st Birthday?
Those who did their dc's 1st Birthday (or any birthday, really) in their backyard in the summertime - what did you serve for food? We are looking at probably around 50-75 people and I'm not sure what to serve. Party will start around noon...so lunch.

Food for 1st Birthday?
we had trays of hot food, salads, etc.
This year I am going to do a BBQ and hero sandwiches/wraps, salads (potato, mixed greens, etc)

Sounds exactly like our party down to the number of people, time and location!
I think we are doing heroes, with various salads. I would love to do BBQ, but I don't want my DD chained to the grill all day. I want to make it as stress-free as possible.

We only had about 25 people, but we did heroes and rotisserie chicken. It was a package deal from a deli.
I think this year we are doing italian, ziti, meatballs, salad etc.

Food for 1st Birthday?
We just did DD's and we only had about 30 people although there was probably enough food for 75! We had pulled pork, marinated chicken, sausage and peppers and a bunch of salads. I did not want anyone to have to man the grill so we went with things we could make ahead and it went over very well.

Same here!
We are doing chicken, ribs, pulled pork, corn on the cob, baked beans, sausage and peppers and a couple different types of salads. We always do the typical hero with ziti and other chafing dishes but we wanted something different this time.

We had it catered. Mediterranean food. Kebobs. Was great! Food delivered from a local place.

We had a BBQ, but we had it catered. I wanted to do a BBQ because the party was at our house, in our backyard, but we had about 140ppl so I did not want DH at the grill all day so I had someone come in a BBQ for us. They were excellent and their prices are very reasonable!! Everyone loved them so much that they got 4 more parties from my party.

Food for 1st Birthday?
My friend had people she hired to bbq, put the food out buffet style and clean up. The food was delicious and it was great she was able to enjoy the party!
