Insurance related- getting released from RE
Good morning all,
I got my BFP but I know the re will send me for more sono and bloodwork. My question is that I don't think my insurance will cover visits billed as pregnancy instead of infertility. The finance dept said ins companies are very particular processing claims billed as preg instead of infertility. The practice is a center of excellence but my ins company (Empire NYSHIP) said once pregnancy is achieved, any further testing is billed as regular medical & NOT infertility. The doctors individually are considered OON but the practice is on my plan.
My question to you is did your insurance continue to cover you at your RE once you got your BFP?

I had 3 appts at the RE after getting my BFP. Each one was covered, thankfully. I have UHC, so I am unsure how your plan will handle your future visits. It's all about how the office codes the claims. Maybe you can ask them to work with you? Good luck!

Was your RE on the plan him/herself? I have been really lucky with coverage for all this so I can't complain.

Yes, they were in network. I agree - its great that ins companies offer coverage for infertility.

I had a regular specialist copay for all of my post pregnancy sonograms but that was it. I too have UHC.
