has anyone used the special pillow to prevent /improve flat head in babies?
DS has a flat spot, ped said he can REQUEST A ei evaluation and / or give a helmet if it doesn't get better, but he doesn't think it's "that bad at all" . We want to try other things before we decide on a helmet, he doesn't have any other problems and is actually very advanced when it comes to sitting up, moving around, turning over. So he def won't qualify for EI. A friend of mine told me her nephew head it and they used a special pillow that really helped. I wanted to ask here and see if anyone has used it and what the results were. Thanks.

We used the noggin nest for when she was awake. I think it helped. She had a pretty bad flat spot and btw the pillow and tummy time and swithving which side of the mattress she slept on it went away on it's own. I think it's worth a shot before getting the helmet.

Ok thank you, we have been doing lots of tummy time and switching his head and seems to be getting better, but still a bit flat, I think maybe I'll try the pillow, will have to def use it when he is awake, he moves around too much and turns over , so can't use it while he sleeps at night. Thank you .

Yes it's not approved for sleeping but we use it when on the playmat on the floor, or in the carseat if in the stroller (not the car), in the stroller if not in the carseat. I think it did really help. It just keeps their head from being pushed on a flat hard surface. Once she started rolling it def improved and went away. It did take a long time but we avoided the helmet. Also, I don't her facial features ever changed so if they do you may need a helmet.

we use the noggin nest as prevention. DD is only 3 weeks though.
my son had a pretty decent flat spot but it did correct itself by 8ish months. he was not at the point of the helmet though.

DS has a flat spot, but I have seen that ever since he has started to roll over it has gotten better. He is 6 months now. Good luck!

we used a rolled up receiving blanket to prop them up (a little on their side but not too much) on different sides every time we put them down in the bassinet! We we would leave it in there to know which side was next!

Dd was/is a really good sleeper. Especially in the car. Her head was getting flat so I have the noggin nest for the car seat. In one month her head has rounded out a lot!
