Re: Acts of kindness (snow-related?)
We live in a coop complex with a lot of eldery and "older" people. Our building in particular only has four young men in it with the rest being primarily eldery women. My DH shoveled the walk and is now out digging out a woman's car in the parking lot. (it should be noted that not one of the other 3 guys was anywhere to be seen and only did their cars). But this what makes DH, DH

Re: Acts of kindness (snow-related?)
Yep...DH started shovelling from the backyard up the driveway to the front, only to discover that our neighbor was just about finished shovelling the front of our house. So nice!! His kid was busy playing in the snow so he just decided to shovel people's front walks while she was playing.

Re: Acts of kindness (snow-related?)
My neighbor owns the snowblower and we give him money for gas. He does the long shared driveway for the 3 homes on the easement.
We cleared our cars, our stoop and then had to shovel our part of the driveway that the snowblower couldn't get. The snowblower broke in the final lap and we had to shovel the rest. We in turn cleared our neighbor's cars.
The other neighbor didn't even come out to clear anything until we were half done. They attempted to clear their cars and were not getting anywhere. We went over and helped them clear their cars and shoveled them out enough to move the cars. They almost hit one of their cars trying to get the car out of 2 feet of snow. They are in their 70s and the have 3 generations of family living with them. The kids were no where to be seen.
The story is that over the last 20 years they never shoveled the shared driveway. One year when our neighbor with the snowblower was traveling I hired a plow company for $200 to do the 250ft shared driveway and each of our private driveways. They didn't want to share in the expense.
We just helped them because they are older and were not making a dent..it didn't take us more than 30 minutes to clear them out.
My parents hired someone to clear them since we couldn't get to suffolk.

Acts of kindness (snow-related?)
DH helped some neighbors shovel and then a neighbor helped us by using the snow blower to get our car out.

Re: Acts of kindness (snow-related?)
We were out shoveling and had 2 neighbors offer to lend us their snow blowers cause they were finished. Everyone around here usually keeps to themselves. It was so nice to see everyone helping each other out.

Acts of kindness (snow-related?)
We live on a private road of only 4 houses so we don't get plowed regardless of the situation. My neighbors stood out on the corner and flagged a guy with a pay loader down (actually they stood there for a long time and he was the only kind person who didnt drive right past) They paid him the 100.00 to do our street and my driveway....i offered money but they told me no way. I made them some cupcakes that night!
