Do you celebrate Valentine's Day with the kids?
When we were in NY, my parents were local so we snuck away for a dinner. Since we moved OOS, we rarely go out on date night unless my parents are visiting.
Do you go out together as a family to celebrate?

We celebrate, but not out to dinner. DH and I haven't done that since we were dating, it's such a clu$terfuck that night. We stay home, give the kids a little gift and candy, then eat chocolate, get drunk, and DTD if we don't pass out first. We are romantic like that

DH gets both DD and myself flowers. We get both kids a small box of chocolates and a small toy. I got DD an outfit for her bitty baby on clearance from American girl. I think I spent about $8 on it. I will pick up a tiny box of legos.

We do, but we usually give the kids a little piece of candy, I'll make dinner, make it Valentine 'themed' and that's about it. This year we might make a pizza shaped like a heart.
We'll take the kids out on the weekend before or after for V-day dinner because it's way too expensive the day of and I don't want to ruin anyones night if my kids are fussy at a nice restaurant that particular night.

We never go out on vday. Everything is soo over priced. We have my parents watch the girls the weekend before or after and go out to dinner. On vday I'll get the girls little gifts, make heart pancakes, and dress them in cute outfits. Once dh gets home we will just have a special dinner and some wine once the girls go into bed.

Dh is off do we will make dinner and they will wear a v day onesie. We might get them a toy but we were going to get that anyway.

Hubby will make me a nice dinner.
Valentines day is, IMO, not really a holiday.
Id rather have the kids watched during our anniversary for a super romantic dinner.

Do you celebrate Valentine's Day with the kids?
DH and I are going out the Sat. night before for a romantic night, my best friend is babysitting. On valentine's day I will make heart shaped pancakes for DS, and we will eat a nice family dinner that night. Other than that, I have nothing planned. I am pretty sure the grandparents are going to buy him stuff though, considering they spoiled him for Halloween of all holidays.

DS was born 2/16 so on the last Vday before he was born we just went to Grimaldis pizza because I couldn't imagine anything fancy and I was so nervous about c-section that I couldn't really eat much.
Since he's been born we go back there and take him with us and it's kind of become our cheap, family, Vday celebration.

I make a valentine themed dinner (heart shaped food, pink food) and last year I started doing a scavenger hunt for valentine goodies for the kids. They love it.
We never go out to eat on a holiday. We've been disappointed too many times!

We do both....I get some little things for the girls (typically non-candy). And I'll do a fun heart themed dinner (maybe fondue even)
Then the DH & I do something. (this year a "stay-cation" while kids are at my ILs)
