drying up breastmilk- frequent nurser to cold turker quit! HELP!
hi everyone! i have a question. At 26 months i decided to start weaning my daughter.
she would nurse ALOT. she would want it all day and all through the night- we were having ALOT of food trouble.
We are now 30 hours from the last time she nursed and i'm hurting!!!
i told her yesterday- that my milk went yucky because she was a big girl now. Well lets just say- she took my word for it and wants nothing to do with my "yucky milk".
Now that we are 30 hours in - i dont want to nurse her. Shes doing really well without it so i'm just going to go cold turkey with it!!
Any advice for drying up the milk?
i have the cabbage leaves in my bra and ice packs. Was also told benadryl? anyone have experience with that?

pump just to relieve a little bit like a couple minutes...no more than 5....and gradually wean the amt of times you pump in a day and the amt of minutes you pump in a session...
it should be easy and pain free this way!

Maybe try manually expressing just enough to relieve the discomfort. Good luck.

I am laughing at "yucky milk"-- I wonder if that would work with my DS???
I think sudafed, not benedryl, b/c the purpose of sudafed is to dry out your sinuses (but also does the same to milk).
I agree to express just enough to relieve the discomfort, and continue with the cabbage.
