where to buy formula - best price?
DD is due soon and I am thinking of picking up some formula ahead of time.
Where is the best place to buy Similac Advance? We used Alimentum through Apria for my son so we never had to price/buy.

I always bought the Similac Advance from BJ's. They have the best price for the largest quantity and they take the Similac checks.

I belong to costco. I can get the 2lb tub there for $25 with a similac check.
If you don't belong to a warehouse, target/Walmart is your next best bet.

Sometimes - ShopRite has good deals as well.

BJs! 8 rtf quarts for $43. You can use one check per bottle.
What is apria? Is that your ins? I need to find cheap aliumentum because its killing us. She just started drinking more too! BJs doesnt carry it. :(

BJs! You can use a check for each case or tub you buy. We have bought 4 at once and used checks for each. Also keep your receipt in case your baby doesn't do well on Similac Advance. We returned tubs of powder without a problem. Even got the $5 back for the checks!

YES! if your insurance will cover Alimentum, have your doc write a letter of medical necessity and a script (for how much she is taking per day) and contact Apria! It is a home delivery company. We would have 5 cases of RTF bottles delivered to our door every month for just our copay. It was NICE!!

My DS was on Gentlease and I found the best prices at Target and stocked up when they had sales.
I would not buy too much up front. My DS was on 3 different formulas before we settled on the Gentlease.
I found BJs to be a few cent (like maybe 3) cheaper but I am never there so it was not worth the extra trip.

honestly, try craigslist!!! MANY people sell their extra formula there (whether right or wrong) my thought is - you are paying insurance which is paying for formula and most pay a copay so if they sell it cheap, its fair. Also, ask here from time to time! Many moms have extra or some sitting around once their kids switch over to milk! I will keep my eyes open

I *think* bjs is 45.99 for a case of 8 rtf 32oz bottles. Babies r us is the same price but it's for 6 bottles!

anyone know BJ's powder price? The cheapest I am seeing is Target 23.99 for the 23.4oz or the regular size container.
we are going to start with powder. I cant find any formula pricing on their website

I know for Enfamil the price is $42.99 for three 23.4 oz packets - it comes with a reusable tub and scoop. DS 1 was on Similac but, it was RTF so I'm not sure about the powder.
I would wait like pp suggested as well - I received some samples at my house and then brought home a bunch from the hospital before I went out and purchased formula. We went straight to Gentlease since DS 1 had digestion issues.

We got the standard sized powered container of Similac Advanced at BJs and it was about $28 (slightly cheaper than Amazon).
What are the formula "checks" and where can I get them?!
