Feeding therapy eval/reflux
So, in the next step of my DD's never-ending feeding resistance saga, before we do an endoscopy, her GI suggested that she goes for a feeding therapy eval at Good Sam to rule out sucking/swallowing issues. I truly don't think that's what's going on, as she can at times suck down a 5 oz bottle in under 10 minutes. When I was talking to one of the therapists on the phone today, she discussed that a lot of it can be due to DD's reflux, as she doesn't find feeding enjoyable. Makes perfect sense to me. She said that they then do therapy to make feeding more fun. Has anyone's DC participated in this type of feeding therapy? I am somewhat familiar with feeding issues in preschoolers, as I work in a special ed preschool, and the SLPs run a feeding group, but am not as familiar with treating this type of issue.
Thanks for any experiences you can share with me. Feel free to FM.
