Regular Milk- What are the rules?
SO, I am one of those moms who "reused" breast milk-- If DD did not finish a bottle I would refrigerate and re-use w/in a few hours.
NOw I am transitioning DD To regular cow's milk.. so I am doing some bottles 1/2 BM abd 1/2 cow's milk.. What are the rules with Cow's milk? Can you reuse it for the next bottle? or do you need to dump it if not consumed?

I don't keep it past the end of the day. If she doesn't finish what's in her cup at breakfast I will seal the cup and put it in the fridge for her next meal. If she doesn't finish her dinner milk, I dump it (but I don't put more than 6 oz in her cup at a time, so if anything I lose like an ounce).

Regular Milk- What are the rules?
I would think the same "rules" apply. I thought it was because germs in the nipple/milk/formula.

Regular Milk- What are the rules?
Dr said you could hold onto the cup all day and refrigerate..germs on the nipple was because they were younger

I'd never reuse BM if more than an hour or two had passed. Regular milk, though, as long as it's consistently cold (like if it's not sitting out in your living room for 4 hours and then put back in the fridge), I'd keep until the end of the day.

We never started heating up milk. My twins have only had cold milk even as babies. We gave it straight from fridge or made it as needed. We used powder formula

I re-use BM. It is too precious to waste. With cows milk, I use the same sniff test I use with BM. I also never heated it. Im sure it will turn faster once heated.

Just and FYI, I had an LC tell me that there are the rules they have to tell us and then the rules they follow themselves with their own children.
