DD is 16 months and we're trying to figure out what kind of stomach issue she has.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Very few children are truly intolerant to lactose, it's pretty rare. Alot though have issues with milk proteins. Totally different thing. If you suspect that she has issues with milk (or any other GI issues) I would have her stool tested by either your ped (if they have the capacity) or a pediatric gastroenterologist. You could also have her allergy tested in general, maybe it's an allergy to another food.

DS has a lactose sensitivity. He was on Sim Sensitive and then when we transitioned him to regular milk he had a horrible time.

We have been giving him lactaid since 14 mos (at the direction of our ped - with no tests) and we've had no problems.

Thanks. She did have issues with milk protein as an infant, but seemed to have gotten better. We're in the process of figuring things out right now with her ped., ruling out other more serious things at the moment. I'm just getting impatient so figured I'd ask on here while I wait for test results.

She hasn't had milk in a few days and within 24 hours, 2 main symptoms are gone.

DD has issues transistioning from Gentleease to Milk and we give her lactose free. She is fine with Cheese and yogurt though. Our ped said giving her lactose free milk was fine and it works for us
