What can I expect when I drop off DD her first day at daycare?
DD will be starting daycare in January and was wondering what to expect the first day. I will be dropping her off and DH will be picking her up. I plan to go the week prior to become familiar with everything so I am not feeling rushed to catch my train.

Expect to cry...lol.
Just make sure you leave yourself plenty of time that morning to make sure you have everything you need and enough time at the drop-off. It sucks that first day and the anticipation leading up to that first day is terrible but it gets easier.

Drop everything off (diapers, wipes extra clothes etc) before the first day.

Exactly. They should have given you a list of what they need on hand. For DD they need:
diapers wipes bibs crib sheets extra clothes receiving blankets (they cover the swings/boppies/play mats with them before they put her in/on the toys)

Re: What can I expect when I drop off DD her first day at daycare?
As pp said... Bring them everything before so it's easier for you. Especially the sheets so they can have the crib all set up and ready. Ask about leaving the carseat there as well. Sometimes DS would be sleeping so I left him there and when he got up they'd take him out and store the carseat till I picked him up. Expect to cry and feel ill, guilty, sad, depressed... All thoe feelings at once. I know it's said all the time, but it's true.... It WILL get better. Before you know it you'll be dropping her off and she'll be reaching for one of her fav teachers to say hi. She'll eventually come home singing songs, learning new things and making you adorable artwork. Keep yourself organized as much as you can. Prep bottles, snacks, etc the night before. Leave out clothes and keep extra wipes and everything in the car. I learned that bc I figured I didn't need. Diaper bag dropping off DS. Well, he has sneezed all over (boogers) or spit up on the way. Don't stay too long and call as much as you want. Ll, not too much, but they should make you feel comfortable enough to call to sete how she's doing. Give them tips and let them know how she's doing each morning. Before you know it they'll know her well enough to see if she's off, hungry or any other signs a baby has to show their mood. They'll know her and your family well. Good luck!!

Thank you for all the info! The daycare did give us a list of stuff so I will drop it off the week prior. I have been back to work since Monday but DD is home with DH this week and will be with my MIL the next two until Christmas. I hope with them watching her it will make the transition to daycare easier for me
