Back from a great Disney trip that had a sad ending
We are back from a fantastic 5 days in Disney. We went with my 19 month old DS as well as my inlaws and DH's 2 brothers, 1 sister, their spouses and their kids. I think we took up half the plane. But, it was a great time. We stayed at Bay Lake Towers, and did Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. DS was awesome and was so happy- I know he will never remember it, but we will so it was all worth it. We can't wait to go back in another few years. However, yesterday my mother was taken by ambulance to North Shore-LIJ with a severe case of type A influenza and pneumonia. She was having trouble breathing, 104 fever for 2 days, and vomited so much on Saturday she was severely dehydrated. My stepdad didn't call me until today when we got home because he didn't want to ruin the last full day of our vacation. DS is 19 months and has not had a flu shot, and I am 24 weeks PG with # 2 so I can't go to the hospital to see her. She is being released tomorrow but I probably shouldn't go see her at all until next week to protect myself and DS. I am so sad, I am just sitting here crying. I know she will be ok, but I feel sick that I was on vacation while all of this was happening and now that I am home I can't even see her.

Sorry but at least she is on her way to recovery. Give her a call and maybe send over some flowers, an edible arrangement or something to let her know you are thinking of her.
