Moms of 2 and BF baby #2
I'm pregnant with baby #2 and when baby is born DC #1 will be a little over 4. I plan to BF baby #2 but I don't know why I'm worried about nursing infront of DC #1. Did you use a nursing cover up to feed the baby or something to over up? I feel like this is such a dumb question. And don't know why I'm thinking to much into this.

Re: Moms of 2 and BF baby #2
My girls are 5 and 6 years old and I have been nursing their baby brother for the past 20 months in front of them. I don't use a cover in front of them. I am a very private person and use a cover in public or in front of other family members. I figure I am teaching my girls what boobs are really for. In the beginning they were curious and asked lots of questions. 20 months later its no big deal, they don't even notice it anymore

My son is 5 and I gave birth 3 months ago. I had no issues and showed him that it was a natural thing. We talked about the animals nursing their little ones and he got the concept and never looked at it any other way than mommy feeding his baby brother.

I nurse in front of my kids and pretty much anyone. The kids did ask questions in the beginning but dd had only weaned 9 months before ds2 was born. My nieces and nephews were curious but now no one even notices.

Moms of 2 and BF baby #2
My son was 22 months when his baby brother was born. I have always nursed in front of him. I think it's good to help them understand all these things, not to keep it secretive, because then they may feel it is somethong wrong or strange. It's such a natural thing and I think it's very healthy to be open and honest about it. Of course, my son was VERY curious and inquisitive in the beginning, but almost a year later it's just a normal everyday thing for him.

My DS was 3 when his little brother was born. I never covered up in front of him. He asked some questions and hen just went about his business. It didn't phase him too much.

Re: Moms of 2 and BF baby #2
I think this is one of those things that varies by personal opinion. For me, personally (and I don't think there is a wrong or right here) it depends alot on the age of the child. I think a 4 yr old is old enough to really "get it" if you explain it to them. I wouldn't really have a problem BF in front of them.

ODD is 3 yo and I nurse in front of her without a cover. Our boobs are there to make milk- it is a natural process so I have no concerns about her it. That young boobs aren't objectified yet.

Thank you ladies for all your great replies. I think I'm looking to much into it and I'm sure DC will be fine while I'm nursing.

My boys are 3.5 years apart. I don't cover up when nursing DS2. I can't even use the cover in public b/c he hates it. I talked to DS1 about how I was going to feed the baby when I was pregnant. We didn't have any issues with it.

Re: Moms of 2 and BF baby #2
I've nursed in front of all my children. My oldest is now 4.5 and I'm expecting #4 so he'll be over 5 for that. He has questions, but I answer honestly and move on.

Same with me. DS asked what I was doing and I told him that I was feeding his sister. Now he tells me when she cries to feed her.

My DD was 3 when DS was born and I nursed on front of her. If I have another child and DD will be older then I will continue to nurse on front of her - no shame..feeding the baby...no big deal so I wont make a big deal out of it. Good luck

My DD is 5 and I have been nursing her baby sister for 7 1/2 weeks now and haven't thought twice about her seeing it. I'd go crazy worrying about covering up in my own home with my immediate family!!!

DD will only be 23 months when DC2 arrives, but I plan on nursing in front of her without a cover.
