Spinoff to Christmas Stocking post (for parents)
I was thinking about this the other day and noticed on the other post that many people hang Christmas stockings for themselves as parents. Growing up my parents never did this, only my brother and I had a stocking.
Since DH and I have been married we don't really have stockings. Well, DH sorta does, he has a Giants stocking that a friend gave him as a joke and one year I filled it for fun, but it's not like we hang it from the mantle.

Growing up we all had stockings. My parents stockings had their names embroidered on them (someone made the stockings for them)

When I was little Santa brought presents for everyone and stuffed stockings for everyone.
Since my mother did all the shopping, she would buy herself something you wanted and wrap it from Santa for christmas morning.

I do only because DH and I always had stockings for each other since we started dating.
So we didn't change just because we had a baby
But to be honest- I could do without stockings.
I feel like I am always running around at the last mintue, looking for chatcki crap to put in it-and I never know what to to put in it.

My parents always had stockings hung with ours that said Mommy and Daddy. When DH and I moved into together we had stockings that said Kristen and Steve but once we had our DD we got new stockings that say Mommy and Daddy. 
I never thought about not having a stocking, to me everyone in the family gets a stocking hung...........we even have one for the dog!

Growing up we all had stockings. My parents had Mom and Dad on theirs. My mom put stuff in my Dads Stocking and my Dad put stuff in hers. Now that I had my daughter me and Dh have Mommy and Daddy and our daughters.

growing up my parents had stockings
dh and i just bought our house, so this is our first xmas not living at home
no kids, but we have stockings, santa will come, and we'll leave out milk and cookies
santa also uses different wrapping paper in our house lol

I don't have kids but DH and I have stockings. I'm not going to stop putting them up if I have kids. My parents had them when we were kids.

i never thought about not having a stocking! We got married in November, so as soon as we got home from our honeymoon we made eachother a stocking with our name on it. Now that we have DS, i got new ones that say Mom/Dad

My parents didn't when I was growing up. When I got older I bought them stockings one year and filled them. Worst idea ever! It was such a pain to fill them every year. I finally stopped once I had my own home with DH. We have stockings and I fill them both since DH would never think to get stocking stuffers for me. This year we'll add one for DD.

When I was a kid EVERYONE had a stocking. Mom, Dad, kids, pets.. even friends who may be by to visit had stockings.
Now...?

My husband & I have them. We've had them since we first got married. We stopped exchanging a few years ago & started buying a joint gift for the house, but we still fill one anothers stockings. We just get little stuff that we need like deodorant, new toothbrushes, razors, maybe some chocolate for me & Slim Jims for him. Nothing but romantic stuff for us

my parents had stockings, and my mom would buy for all of us (pretending it was santa) except for herself. My dad made sure to buy her some stuffers.
Now DH and I have stockings that we made when we first started dating. I'm sure once we have children, we'll get the nice ones

we all did growing up in my house....but only the kids got gifts.
dh was only him and bro's...
we got ourselves stockings before the kids came around,and they are still up now two kids later... Although they got the embroidered names, ours I used a glitter glue.
