Is it possible to get xmas picture for $100 or less?
No xmas tree in our home this year because of storm, so can't take my own photo of kids for xmas card. Are there any places that i can take my kids for xmas photos that won't be super expensive and that i won't be forced into buying the "package"???

try targe! they have coupons all the time. Usually no sitting fee and you can choose what you want. Lving social is having a deal currently with target too

We got a great pic this yr at jc penny. In fact, I did two shots b/c it was also ds2's first bday.
I got one pic of ds2
2 8x10
2 5x7
60 wallets for his ty cards
one pic of them both w/ xmas background
2 8x 10
2 5x7
40 xmas cards
total was $97
Look for the specials (this was in oct so they're prob diff)
ETA some people might say they stink but our photog there was great and knew just how to get my two boys to smile- and take the pic QUICK!

I second Target. Got DD's done there and bought 60 holiday cards, 3 8x10's, and quite a few standard prints for $78. Not bad at all!

I did my dd 2nd bday pics at target and I got a lot of prints and thank you cards for 65. They always have coupons on their website.

Not all of them have a portrait studio. If you go to
http://www.targetportraits.com/
you can search for a location near you. I went to S. Setauket.

yes I just went to JCP b/c my camera broke. In november, it is free sitting fees, one free 8X10, and holiday cards for only .50 (if you ordered at least 36). So I ordered 48 holiday cards, got a free 8X10 and ordered a holiday portrait package of one pose of my kiddos (got an 8X10, 2 5X7, 4 3X5's, and 16 wallets- for $8) for $32 all together.It was so worth it AND they came out great :)

What about taking the kids to see Santa and using that picture? I am planning on going to White Post Farms. I believe you take your own picture there.

I also think you can get great pics at Target. I used them for my DD's first Christmas and it was by far everyone's favorite card.
Also what about just going somewhere outdoors? We did an outdoor session with my sister (who is an amateur photographer) at Eisenhauer Park this past week on a mild day and we got so many wonderful photos.

Ditto! Got the exact same deal and I was shocked at how cheap it all came out to be. It was DS's first time getting real pics taken and it was fast and they did a great job.

Picture people at the mall has a few cute xmas props to take pics with, xmas cards are $25 for 25 and $20 for each additional set of 25. No sitting fee and you dont have to buy anything else.

picture people...you can walk out of there with one sheet $18 and cheaper if you have a coupon.
I walk out of there with 4 different sheets/poses for $30 - after coupons
then I scanned it and printed it on the christmas cards at costco - 50 for $15

target! just went, had free sitting fees and 40% off all packages. Though i would recommend going on a weekday if you can or first thing on a weekend, it was crowded and they were running behind.

We found that whenever we paid money for pictures, the kids were so misbehaved that the pics were awful.
Decided years ago to take our own photos, saved the $$ and the frustration. We decided to take them out to a location (nearby park, florist shop, store) and see how it goes. Recently we've been very successful at the Arboretum in Oakdale.
Then we edit the pics on our home computer and load them to Costco for 1-hr printing.
100 cards go out for $65:
First 50 cards are $14.99 - $5 coupon=$10
Buy 2 extra sets of 25 for $5 each = $10
Stamps for 100 cards = $45
Most expensive part is the postage.

I have a coupon for a JCP holiday portrait package. It says it comes with one 8x10, 2 5x7s, four 3 1/2x5s and 16 wallets for $8. I also have a sears portrait studio coupon. Let me know if you want them!!
