back rash?? need advice.

On Monday DS (8 months old) had a hivish/raised bump break out on his back in the evening...the surface of skin was red and blotchy with a raised pimple in center. It looked like an allergic reaction..I called ped and he said to observe..if his behavior was normal and he appeared comfortable to leave alone..or if not give benadryl...he didn't seem bothered so i left alone. the next day the red blotch was gone..but there were little clusters of pimples on back area...almost like a heat rash.. Last night he was fine..and then tonight a few more blotch patches on his back again...but this happens in the evening??

I have not introduced any new foods..jsut some stage two's that have combos of things he has eaten already. He does have a milk allergy and is on alimentum..any thoughts? Someone told me that too much beta carotene can do it and on monday he had carrots for lunch and sweet potatos for dinner..could that have triggered it?

Did he have a diaper blow-out that went up his back? DD got something similar on her tummy once from a diaper blowout.

DS has bad eczema - the first time it appeared it was on his back and looked similar to how you described it

I only ask cause my son has keratosis pilaris and he gets breakouts on his back at times. For him it started on his face then his legs and arms broke out. It looks like patches of acne and sometimes he gets whiteheads with it. There's a good chance that it was a heat rash though.
