is it ok to...?
have my DC's birthday party on superbowl sunday? The weekend before and after don't work for my parents. It's a toddler party, will be 2 hours max and in the early afternoon (like 11-1). Would that annoy people?

Superbowl doesn't start until 6'ish - That gives people plenty of time to get where they need to go...I say sure!

My DH is a huge sports guys and he wouldnt like it at all. Even though your party would be much earlier it may bother the crazy sports nuts!

yeah....same with my DH. My feeling is if it is a kiddie party as opposed to a family birthday party it is fine bc a lot of time just mom take the DC to the party whereas a family party the whole family goes.

We were invited to a party last year on Super Bowl Sunday. My DH declined to go, but it was early enough for me to go with DD and then catch up with him at the super bowl party. So, as long as you're okay with some of the die hard sports fans not coming then I'm sure it will be fine.

Well lets just say that my shower was Super Bowl Sunday last year and even with just women and it starting at 11 my mom had quite a few who said they couldn't come for that reason.

Im the football fan in my house. I wouldn't be thrilled. Plus I hate all the drinking and driving that goes with the game. tailgating starts early and lasts all day. Too many drunks on the road. I settle in and stay put. but that's just me.

And to think, Football isn't even the National Pastime.

Had this debate with my hubby since HE'S a big baseball fan.. we have overlapping seasons. I would NEVER suggest that Footbal be called the American Pastime (ever again haha)
We settled on the fact he's big into baseball I'm big into football. We have both the NFL & MLB channels
Thank GOD the world series and Super Bowl are on opposite sides of the calendar!
