First shots... what to expect?
DD is getting her first shots today at 3:15. What should I expect during and after the appointment?
Was your LO in a lot of pain after the shot? did it mess with their sleeping? did if your LO's get sick after the shot?
I'm so nervous. TIA

Re: First shots... what to expect?
It's been a while since the first shots (my DS is over 3yo). But I don't recall them hurting him too much. He actually slept a lot that afternoon and night, and when he woke at night, he was a bit warmer than usual. The next day he was fine.

Re: First shots... what to expect?
I do recall she slept a LOT that day after her first shots- and that was no small feat because she RARELY slept as a newborn. She had no reaction afterward- no fever, no pain, no crankiness (other than her normal colic crankiness!)

Re: First shots... what to expect?
First shots were great. My DD didn't even flinch and slept like a champ afterward from the stimulation of going to the dr.

Re: First shots... what to expect?
My DD cries hysterically every time she gets shots. Afterwards, it isn’t as bad – a little cranky, but the next day she’s fine.

First shots... what to expect?
My dd had a reaction 4 hours after the shots... Screaming in horrific pain... Injection sites swelled up and were red hot... Me trying to comfort her was making her worse... So out came the Tylenol... Gave her a dose and she was fine and went to sleep within 10-15 minutes. What a lifesaver... So make sure to have on hand... You might even want to give it to her before the shots...
