Stage 2 Foods - Meats?

How did you prepare & introduce meats to your DC? Did you cook and serve the meat at each meal or cook a whole piece in advance? If you did it in advance, how did you store it?

TIA!

Sorry for being unclear Chat Icon I want to give my DC table food instead of jarred. I guess I'm just confused with how much meat I should be preparing, how it should be stored, and how long will it be good for. I've made all of my DC's food so far (pureed fruits & veggies) and it stays fresh in the fridge for a few days. Does the same apply to pureed meat?

I never used jarred meats. Just kinda grossed me out. I started with roasted chicken or chicken in the crockpot, and cut it into tiny pieces. It was so soft cooked that way. Also, she tried meatballs early on since that was soft.

I never did pureed meat. I just introduced meat as table foods. roasted chicken or crockpot chicken cut very small pieces...meatballs...this was around 7-8 months I think.

Re: Stage 2 Foods - Meats?

I actually introduce chicken this week. I dont use jarred food. Basically I roasted a whole chicken ( it was our dinner for 2 nights). I cut some up for ds and gave it to him as finger food with pastina and asparagus for dinner. He loved it. The next day, i reheated the chicken. We eat poultry almost every night, so ill just give ds what we are having ( as long as he can have it). If not, ill bake him a piece of chicken every 2 days or so.

Thank you all for your responses! Chat Icon

DS is only 6 months old, doesn't have any teeth yet. Would it be safe to give him teeny tiny pieces of chicken or am I better off pureeing it?
