7 months & CIO ?

DS can put himself to sleep with no problem but he sleeps 7-8 hrs @ night and wakes up crying/screaming. DR says not to feed him but after 30 mins to 1 hr its very hard to not feed him b/c he clearly is starving. I juat feel awful. I feel that 7-8 hrs is a reasonable amount of time to sleep and require a bottle. He is also a very hungry baby & used to wake up like this after 5 hrs & now 7-8 after CIO. Would u feed ur 7 month old after 7-8 hrs of sleep even if it was 330/4 am?? (Not breastfed)

Totally depends on YOU. If you can feed him that time of day every day for the next few months without losing your mind, no harm is done. Forcing him to wait is to benefit the grownups who need rest.

If you think he is hungry then feed him!! I don't understand when dr's say not to feed them.
I would feed him and see if he will go back down. Have you tried feeding just before you put him down. Doing a dream feed saved us for a while.

7 months & CIO ?

My DD is 7 months and she does wake up probably 3-4 nights a week hungry so I do feed her. I notice of she eats her cereal later in the day she will STTN. I personally know CIO is not for me but that is just me:)

If you think he's hungry I see no reason at all not to feed him! Why make you both miserable? DD will be 7 months in a week and still wakes every night. I really don't think she's that hungry but I nurse her bc it's what gets her back to sleep the fastest. When they're ready, they'll sttn...hopefully soon!

I say feed him! DD woke up for a bottle at 3/4am until she was 9 months old. I loved that sleepy cuddling time Chat Icon He will STTN eventually, if he is hungry, I would not do CIO.

you know your child better than the ped does. do what works for you. i personally can't do CIO for the MOTN...it's heartbreaking for me. if the boy is hungry feed him.

My DS is just like yours. He goes down between 8:30-9:00 and wakes up around 4:30 for a bottle. Thankfully he goes back to sleep till 7:30. I say feed him if he is hungry!
