FTWM - Did you look forward to going back?

I go back in 3 weeks and I'm looking forward to it. IDK maybe it's because I enjoy my job and company, but I'm looking forward to adult interaction. I love spending time with my DD and I know I'm going to miss her like crazy. I will miss my time with my lovebug Chat Icon It definitely helps DH and my MIL will be watching her the first 3 weeks I'm back, but who else felt excited to go back?

FTWM - Did you look forward to going back?

I totally did.. I NEEDED it. In my mind it put part of my old life back and made the new life whole. It was who I was plus who I am now (mom) and together it made me.

I need people interaction, work, clients, achievement. Yes I love my daughter to death and no less because of my job. But my job is part of who I am.

I logged on early haha, made arrangements then reality check took a week to 'get ready' with her in daycare and me running errands.

I love my daughter
I love working
I am happy to have both.

FTWM - Did you look forward to going back?

I definitely looked forward to going back. I'm a creature of habit and I missed my normal routine. I love being a mom, but I also love my job.

FTWM - Did you look forward to going back?

I did. DS was colicky and I needed to get away for my sanity. It's now that he is older that I'm sad to be away.

YES!!!! I was home for 12 weeks with a newborn and 22 month kld twins. No adult interaction during the day. I needed to get back into a routine. Of course the week I was supposed to go back, hurricane sandy had to ruin it, so I got a free week home.

Re: FTWM - Did you look forward to going back?

As much as I missed DS and DD when I went back to work, there was a big part of me that was really looking forward to adult interaction and getting out of the house.

Re: FTWM - Did you look forward to going back?

Me! My maternity leave was miserable. I need structure and routine and there was none of that while I was on leave. I didn't know when I was going to get to shower, if I'd be able to cook dinner, etc. And to top it off DD was colic. I love the people I work with so I was looking forward to seeing them again too.

It was still hard to go back. I cried all the time before going back, mainly because I felt guilty for having to go back and also for wanting to go back.

Re: FTWM - Did you look forward to going back?

I couldn't wait to go back.
I missed my friends, I missed the adult interaction, I missed having a purpose other than feeding, changing, burping all day long, I missed getting dressed up in something other than a spit up stained tank and sweat pants, etc
My DD was colicy and NEVER slept and screamed pretty much 24/7. We couldn't even leave the house most days- she was that bad. My sanity was definitely taking a hit

It wasn't easy leaving her that first day, but it got a bit easier each time and we got into a great groove.

I truly feel like we now have the best of both worlds!

I just recently went back after a 12 week leave... as much as I miss leaving DS in the morning I have to say it feels good to get out of the house and have a routine. I also like my job- (the only thing I don't like is my commute in traffic.) I would love it if it was possible for me to work 3 days a week!

Re: FTWM - Did you look forward to going back?

With DD1 I was INCONSOLABLE when I went back. Crying on the floor like a lunatic the night before.

With DD2 (I came back last week) it was a bit easier. I have known our nanny for 2 years now; DD2 is older and very communicative so can tell me everything that goes on in my absence; and 6 months home with 2 little ones was kinda crazy! lol. I did miss my work and the adult interaction too.

I looked forward to going back to work. I missed "thinking" for lack of any other way to describe it. I actually think I flew down the stairs my first day back to work.

yeah, I like the paycheck so we can keep paying the mortgage, and the adult conversation... dc#2 was a little more easier than #2, so I think it will be a little tougher to go back to work this month this time.

I didn't look forward to it at all. Thinking about it always made me cry. Maybe it's because she's a good baby and I'm bf her.

Re: FTWM - Did you look forward to going back?

The first time around I totally did. I was going crazy being home...I needed adult interaction, brain stimulation and I love my company and people I work with. DS1 was 3.5 months when I went back. With DS2 I am dreading going back. I love being home with him and being there for my five year old with getting him ready for school and picking him up, homework, dinner, etc. It has nothing to do with the kind of babies they were either. I know once I go back I'll fall into the routine but I am dreading it bc I know when I get home I'll have a boatload of work.

FTWM - Did you look forward to going back?

I was home for almost a year an totally got used to it. I missed working and got back into the swing of things quickly but was really nervous going back. I think it's great to have a positive attitude about returning :)

i did nto look forward to it. I loved being home seeing my son every day adn every minute. I could see every little milestone and just be with him. I breastfed, and i hate pumping. I never felt like i didnt get adult interaction because i would leave teh house with him. We were involved with a baby group that met once a week, we visited friends, and i figure icould have gotten more involved with other play groups. if it wasnt for needing the money, i could have easily walked away.. i may have regretted that in teh future, but there isnt a mintue that passes in my life that i a mnot thinking of my son..

Same here but DS is such an awesome baby and gave me no problems so I just preferred staying home but once I got back into the kick of things at work Im glad I actually went back. It is nice to have adult conversations once in a while
