Psych eval done - question about speech eval
DS had his psych eval last Friday at home. After seeing how nervous he was as well as other reasons, mainly that I actually want to see the speech evaluation, I'm rethinking my decision of allowing the speech eval being done while he is at school. The speech evaluator originally set it up this way because she has to do an observation of him in class as well. Is it wrong of me to call the speech evaluator back and ask if I can come up to the school during the speech evaluation?

Re: Psych eval done - question about speech eval
I'm a school psychologist. As a parent, you should advocate for your child to have everything done in the way that will make you and your child most comfortable. I wouldn't find it offensive or pushy in any way for you to request that it be done at home. The SLT will probably appreciate it; if your little one does not cooperate fully, you'll never know if the results are valid. Plus, afterwards you could point out directly some examples of some of your concerns.
Please let me know if you have any questions at all, even about how to interpret the reports. I work with middle schoolers but most things in the field transcent all ages. Feel free to send me a private message!
