Would you wash a 10 day old with just water and wash cloth sponge bath, or use soap? Belly button hasn't fallen off yet

You can wash with baby soap, just make sure no water gets on the bellybutton. My DH used to hold a small towel over it while I washed DH.

I just wiped with water and a wash cloth. DD's belly button didn't fall off until she was 3 weeks.

This. The nurses at the hospital told me we can use soap bc they wash all newborns with soap too.
