Taking newborn for photos with Santa?

My girls will be 4 weeks on Monday. Would you take them to see santa even at 2 months. I know they don't clean those suits and rhey are riddled with germs lol. Dh says not to take them this year because they don't know how to hold little babies. Lol. Do we skip it this year?

Taking newborn for photos with Santa?

We took my dd last year when she was like 4 weeks, we went really early in the morning so there was no line and it was honestly the cutest pic ever (santa was holding her and his finger on his lips- like shh, while she slept) and I am so happy that I did it...made for an awesome Christmas card!

Aww that's cute! I'll have to take them early after a feeding so they are calm.

I skipped the Santa visit when DS was 4 months. Too many germs!

maybe you can hand him the girls in a receiving blanket as a buffer between them & his cootie-covered lap. Then that blanket goes right in the wash!

Re: Taking newborn for photos with Santa?

If they have their shots, yes. If not, I'd skip it or maybe get a party city costume and have a family member dress up and hold them.. DS was 4 weeks for his first christmas and we skipped it

They will only begin shots on nov 30. I'm not sure what they even get then.

Re: Taking newborn for photos with Santa?

We brought DS when he was 2 months old and Santa knew how to hold him fine. We did it close to bedtime, so I changed him out of his clothes and into new pjs.

Taking newborn for photos with Santa?

I put a receiving blanket between ds and santa the first year when ds was about 2 months old but only a couple of weeks adjusted due to being a preemie. we went to the santa in broadway mall and he used hand sanitizer between kids too!! He did the same thing last year as well.

Shots are really irrelevant unless Santa has like polio or hepatitis, lol. It's colds and flu to be concerned about

I took DS when he was younger than 4 weeks. We went early in the morning on a weekday. No one was there. I wasn't worried about germs on the suit.

Re: Taking newborn for photos with Santa?

LOL never dawned on me to worry about the germs! Chat Icon NOR if he could hold her. I just handed her over. She was happy as a clam. She was older than a few weeks but that wouldn't have stopped me.

She had also just taken a crap of a life time before she got onto his lap soooo she was feeling goooooooooooood.

You and DH could always hold the girls next to Santa to avoid the germs. But honestly, he will hold them for .48 seconds, so I think they will just fine!! Try to go to the mall at off hours to avoid the crowds and germy kids!

I know. I never understood people who say- I can't take them out until they get their shots.
Shots only protect against things like you mentioned above.
THey dont' even get MMR until much much older.
There is no shot against a cold and they can't even get a flu shot if you wanted one until 6 months old anyway

If you like.. you can each sit down on the bench holding a baby, and have santa stand in back... thats what the santa at roosevelt field mall did when my ds was scared to go near him at 6months

Re: Taking newborn for photos with Santa?

I'd def do it. I don't think it matters (aside from short lines) if you go early morning. I doubt santa is getting his suit dry cleaned from the day before. Plus it's the flu I'd worry about anyway.

Re: Taking newborn for photos with Santa?

Yeah I guess the shots dont matter. I'll have to get us out the door early one thurs or fri when dh is home. DH is just silly about Santa knowing how to hold them. I'm sure Santa has held many babies before. Maybe I'll go before thanksgiving so it's not so busy.
