Are there certain foods you avoid while BF?

DS has been crying been crying more today then usual. He seems to have gas but not sure if this is why he's crying. I'm wondering if I should avoid eating certain foods to try and help his gas/crying?

I never stayed away from anything specific, just limited caffeine to one cup or coffee a day. DD had a few days in the first 2 months or so where she was gassy and very uncomfortable. I don't think it was related to what I ate though. Unless it's happening a lot I don't think I would worry about what you eat (although it's so hard to see them uncomfortable). You could try gas drops.

For months my premie twins cried all the time. I had already cut out the "gasy veggies". My ped recommended I try cutting out dairy. That helped a little. When they were 4 months adjusted age a gi dr was seriously pushing formula so I spoke to my lc again and she told me to try cutting out all veggies. I did this and had happy babies.
My situation is/was an extreme.

I would take notice of what you eat and your lo's behavior.

Milk products because of milk protein allergies but otherwise I eat everything

Spicy foods and tomatoes before bed time. Dd would get really fussy if I ate spaghetti for dinner so I eat it earlier for lunch, I think the tomatoes are too acidic for her.

I cut out hot dogs and spinach dip bc when I ate those things it bothered DD.
