Temporarily displaced..and DS sleeping issues

I am grateful to have a warm place for ds and am not complaining in the least..however, he is not sleeping well in the pack and play..up every couple of crying..I just feel so bad for him. I ordered from diapers.com a mattress cushion..not really helping. Any suggestions? thanks..

Does he keep any stuffed animals in his crib? Maybe put something familiar from home in pack and play.

What does he usually sleep in? Hopefully the mattress thing helps. I think it will.

Maybe you can lay towels or a few sheets down under the mattress thing to make it a little more cushy?

Is the new sleeping area dark? Maybe a night light?

I'd also throw in a stuffed animal or toy he likes. You can always take it out after he falls asleep

If u can pull up YouTube, search for 'Mozart for my baby'
It's a 12 minute video (he can just listen to it too) of baby Mozart music. That might help

Or you can read to him from some old college textbooks. That always put me to sleep lol

Hope my real suggestions are helpful!

How temporary is your arrangement? Will you need a new crib? If so I'd suggest getting a crib if theres room.

Otherwise get an extra PNP sheet and sleep with it...then put it on his bed. Babies are very comforted by the smell of mommy. I think the mattress should help as well. PNP mattresses stink!

Teething usually happens too at this age.
Don't forget to consider it!

Yes..I think it is a combination..I have been giving him a little tylonal at night..and when I do, he isn't so cranky when he wakes up. Last night was a bit better..gave him a small bottle and he fell back asleep..i just don't want to introduce bad habits..but it could be worse..i just want him to comfortable..thanks!

Going through the same thing. DS started having night terrors. I feel horrible for him & don't know if there's anything we can do. Same here, grateful to have a warm place to sleep but I'm not sure there's a solution.

Re: Temporarily displaced..and DS sleeping issues

We had the same problem. I went home one night and got her crib aquarium and put it on the floor next to the pack n play. It did help a little (but it turned out she has a double ear infection anyway). Is the temperature where you're staying different than it was at home? That could be another factor - maybe add/remove clothing layers? When we were staying at my moms it was much warmer than our house usually is; at my sisters it was colder.

At this age, it might not be due to you being displaced -- my DS is the same age and he's been having trouble sleeping because he's teething.
