How many bags of candy DID you buy?

Curious.. i think we over do it! Chat Icon

One bag of kit kat stuff
One bag of Reeces cups stuff
One bag of Mike & Ikes
One big bag of mixed stuff
One bag of mini oreo cookies (huge win btw)
One bag of chocolate mix
One bag of twizzlers
One bag of different chocolate mix

50 temporary tattoos (10 sheets of 5 for the smaller ones)
around 85 glow bracelet thingies (for a buck from Target another huge hit)

I start to stash them early. Then I pull out a big container and just toss them all in. AJ has a TON of fun mixing them all up as much as she can. Then she gets to pick out ONE for herself. She got kit kat chocolate all over her! lol

Then clean up and dress for trick or treating.

Once she was done ToTing (which is when it got really dark - she said its time to go home) she helps hand out candy. She loves doing that! And she helped 'crack and break' the glow sticks haha.

So.. we ended up with maybe a small bowl left before we closed 'shop' otherwise.. all gone

Then again we don't give out just one candy per kid so that's probably it.

I bought about 10 bags of candy. We have 5 bags of candy left.

I also bought about 10 bags of other treats like glow sticks, finger lights, fruit rollups, cheeseballs, goldfish, fruit snacks, and rice crispy treats. We used most of these between all the halloween parties we attended.

I went a bit overboard because I did not want to run out of candy like last year. Our new house is in a cul de sac where all the houses are very spread out and we barely got trick or treaters (maybe 20 in total). Last year we lived in a townhouse community where we were at the entrance in front of an elementary school. We got tons and tons of trick or treaters and ran out within the first hour.

Wow. That is ALOT of candy! I suuy make goodie bags with a like 3 diff types of candy but decided to go easy this year and just picked up a huge box of individual chip bags from Costco and hand those out instead. I figured most candy prob gets thrown out and the chips will def get used. Either as kids are TOTing or for lunch snacks. They were a big hit. I can't believe the amount of kids that have a serious love for Doritos. LOL

That is a fantastic idea! I am going to do chips next year. Plus chip bags are big so I won't feel the need to give out multiple items.

yeah im kicking myself for not getting to costco to get pretzels. AJ got two bags of pretzels and put all candy away JUST for pretzels. Seriously.. she took the lollipop out of her mouth and whined "but Im done!" haha Do you want me to throw it away "yes" so i did and she happily snacked on pretzels. Another year I got away without a candy fest in the house!!! WHOO

But chips seems like a smart idea. I saw them at Target yesterday afternoon. cookies were huge hit too. Gonna have to rethink the plan next year.

We had 4 bags of candy (2 butterfingers and 2 snickers). I opened one of each to put in the bowl. We had a total of 5 TOT'ers, so we have too much candy left. It will be going into work since DH won't eat it, DD is too young for nuts and I have GD. Lovely.

I bought a huge bag from BJ's, it had 135 pieces. I still have about half left. We didn't have as many trick-or-treaters as last year. I'm sure it won't go to waste Chat Icon

I had like a huge 150 piece bag - maybe went through less than half.... Plus dh had me buy extra after that - so there were then like 4 - 40piece bags too.
