Looking to buy a DSLR camera to capture better pics of DD. The cheap point and shoot is just not cutting it anymore. I am between two, the Nikon D3100 and Canon Rebel T3. Any opinions, experiences are appreciated. TIA!

Re: DSLR Camera
We have the Nikon D3100 and love it. I researched a lot of reviews beforehand and it seemed like the best value. I am no camera expert so it is perfect for us. Not too fancy but it seems like it could grow with you if you add diff lenses etc. Takes awesome pictures. We always get compliments on our photos.

I considered both and then ended up with the Pentax K-30. Just got it but so far it's awesome. I chose it because it is made better, the auto-focus motor is in the camera (the Nikon and Canon have it in the lenses) and I got the best deal on this as compared to the others.
I don't think you can go wrong no matter what you choose.

Re: DSLR Camera
I ultimately bought the canon bc of reading reviews and a great sale at best buy didnt hurt! lol. Now just trying to figure out how to use it. Omg, there are a lot of functions. As long as the power holds up, ill have plenty of time to read and watch some youtube videos the next 2 days.

Re: DSLR Camera
If you arent used to either canon or nikon I think your best bet is to go to a store and feel them both in your hands to see which feels most comfortable to you... then you can go online and find the best deal (i'm partial to B&H photo) You can't go wrong with either choice... it's like coke vs pepsi... however once you choose a brand you are likely to stick with it forever since the lenses will transfer between batteries...
(personally, im a canon user, I have the T3i and love it!)
