tips for picture people
I was thinking of using my groupon for picture people this weekend.
How does it work? how long is a session? Do you just put your LO in one cute outfit?
Any advice/heads up/good to know would be greatly appreciated.

Re: tips for picture people
We took DS about a month ago.
There is no sitting fee which I liked, so IMO we had nothing to lose by going and seeing how they came out.
You basically have a backdrop which they switch up for you between pics. They have props (DS was sitting in a chair, in a metal red car and on a little step stool), but from what I could see, each section had different props so guess it depends on who does your pic's.
The entire session took about 45 min's. We got in pic's with DS, they took ones of DH with him, DS & I and all of us together.
We left him in the same outfit, but you do have the ability to change your DC into something else if you want.
The give you about 25-30 pictures to choose from in the end. We got the CD which costs $150 since we wanted to make our own thank you cards, photobook and enlargements.
I was very happy with the way they came out.

Re: tips for picture people
exactly as the PPer stated...
I go every year with my kids...what I like is that you can walk out with 1 pose if you want...i NEVER get a package just indiv portrait sheets of the poses I like!
So I have walked out of there with 1 pose for $15-18!!!!!!! (they are $18 a sheet...but i NEVER go without a coupon) There is no min. or max. you have to spend.
This last session was a good one and walked out with 7 poses!! But that is usually the most I spend
I also sign up for the membership bec it is so worth it! It gives you 3 - free sheets, 3 - $10 off, - I use one each visit and since I go Halloween, Christmas and Easter...it is def worth it for us!

Re: tips for picture people
I go all the time. Ask for props. If u see something u like ask for it. I find if u dont ask they dont use them. And my DD doesnt know what to do without props. U can bring your own if u like. Sessions are suppose to be 20 min. But i always spend longer then that. Which i think is why during holidays its a long wait.

Re: tips for picture people
Altho I’m a fan, I find I spend more time waiting to get in and waiting to see/order my photos than spent taking the pictures themselves.
That said, they do take their time with you. I’ve always had friendly photographers. I ALWAYS take her in at LEAST one change of clothes. A comfy and a fancy. I do fancy first then switch her over to comfort.
I always, always ALWAYS bring my own props. They have some and that’s fine but my props make my photos unique (JMHO). One mom tried to use our bear and flowers and I said “sorry those are ours”. We have flowers we ALWAYS bring. They were in her 1yr photos, 2yr and 3yr and will be in the 4yr. We also bring “the Grinch Who Stole Christmas” book every year for xmas photos. So the photos grow with her and the prop. Once for a spring shoot, we brought her sunglasses, some bead necklaces, her favorite teddy bear. So I’ve got a shot of her on a wooden adorack (spl?) chair, barefoot with her legs crisscross, bear on the side next to her wearing her sunglasses and her bracelet.
I’ve brought balloons, tub stuff (when she was little we had her sit in a tub with her favorite ducks and towel), pinwheels, rose petals (for her one year photos she was dressed as a fair with pink fake rose petals and a wand), ornaments for xmas, extra books, and flowers. I’ve had her goof off with a picture frame (theirs), their numbers, their boxes, their piano, their car.
I use as many backdrops as what makes me happy. We’ve had her on the floor picture taken from above, on the floor picture taken at an angle, down low facing her, etc.
what can I say? For the money I goall out. haha then I buy the CD And yes membership has its perks
