Target Photo Studio Question
My DD is turing two in two weeks and I was thinking about getting pictures done. I have never done professional pictures with her. I have also never used Target's studio (Going to East Setauket).
Is there an obligation to buy a package? What happens if I take her there, and lets say she is horrible and I get no good pics?
Also, I saw that you can buy a CD. Can I just by that with no prints? If so, does anyone know how much it is? It doesnt say on the website.
Thanks in advance!
Katie

Re: Target Photo Studio Question
Hello. You have no obligation to get any pictures. If I remember I think the cd was 125 or 150 they put lots of pictures on there plus all the ones that they make up so it was always cheaper for me. I usually only get the cd. I have seen people there never get any pictures at that time. They go home and take a look at them and order them online. They will also make up anything that you want of like if you get ideas. Look on there website for coupons. CD is considered media so most coupons are not good for them. Any questions please feel free to ask.

Re: Target Photo Studio Question
I brought my son there for his 2 year old pics Target in E Setauket ~ Had a good experience ~ the girls made it fun for him.
I bought pictures and the CD ~ if I go back I will only purchase the CD ~ so much better to pick your photo's at home and don't have to rush.

Re: Target Photo Studio Question
I did DD's Christmas pics in East Setauket last year. There was a LONG wait, they were running behind by about an hour. Kids were having meltdowns all over the place, not a good scene.
I will say the photog and assistant were really great with the kids, took their time (hence running soooo late) and got great smiles out of DD. I only bought one pic though becuase the background I chose was all wrinkled at the bottom and they just let me use it anyway. I assumed it wasn't going to show in the pics but it was majorly obvious (and looked horrible) in 90% of the pics. I was SO disappointed. They wanted me to pick out my pics right then after the shoot which caught me off guard but they agreed to let me come back. I wound up ordering only one head shot online at home.
I went for a re-shoot at Target Bayshore and had the exact opposite experience. They were right on time, to a fault. As soon as we entered the studio the photog (who didn't even have an assistant) put on an egg timer for 10 minutes. DD was 9 months and takes a bit to warm up so this was not a good thing. The photog tried a tiny bit to make her smile but just wasn't very good with kids. I tried what I could but we wound up just getting lots of blank stares. I did an outfit change, she snapped a few more pics, told me to "stop fixing her headband, it's fine", only to have her hair all messed up looking in the pics. Then *DING*, the timer went off and she said "Whoops! And we're done" and ran out of the room. I was livid. She then tried to sell me the miserable looking pics. I told her I wanted to go home and think about it and she told me I wasn't allowed to, I wouldn't get the deal I was there for. Well I left and still got the deal.
Moral of the story, go to East Setauket and probably expect a good wait if it's anywhere near holiday card time.

Re: Target Photo Studio Question
I've always gone to Target in Setauket. If you get an experienced person, the pics come out amazing! And as PP stated, they are patient with the kids. I have had to wait a bit at holiday time, but I'd rather that and know my pics will come out good as well. Twice when I went there (b-day and Christmas time) I got a kid who was not very creative with the poses...he just have standard poses that he was used to, but I made sure I switched it up and made them what I wanted. And I've never bought the CD. I just bought whatever package I was there for. I always ended up buying more than I planned!

Re: Target Photo Studio Question
WE just did Christmas pics there. I like that i only had to order a couple 5 X 7s to have the pics loaded online and then I went home and took my time making CHristmas cards. I hate feeling rushed there and the cards that the woman had designed were there with the upload if I did want her version.

Target Photo Studio Question
We went to the Bay Shore location last year (DS was 4 months old). The pictures were great, but the girl processing my order thought it was better to text on her iPhone than help me order my pictures, so I was aggravated. I didn't have to order a package and was able to get the sizes I needed.
