Last minute favor advice, please!
My son's 2nd birthday party is on Saturday. Please help me decide if I need to give favors/stuff to occupy the kids and if so, what? Here are the facts:
~It's outside at my house. ~The theme is Thomas the Tank Engine Oktoberfest. ~There will be 12 boys between the ages of 0 and 11 and 10 girls between the ages of 2 and 11 (highest concentration of 5 and 8 yr olds.) ~We had an Oktoberfest 1st b-day last year at which we bought a billion pumpkins and stickers, etc to decorate them. ~We were sweeping up stickers for 11 months after the fact. ~Halloween is 11 days later. ~ I am not bound by societal norms and don't care about insulting those who expect a favor or entertainment. ~Still, that's A LOT of boys!
Two days left...what to do?!

The only idea that pops into my head is buy those little mini pumpkins and give them washable markers to decorate them with? At least it shouldn't make too much of a mess.

Get a pinatta and fill it with candy and stickers and let them take that home as a goody bag. It is hard when there is a large range of ages.

Personally I hate goody bags. They are wasteful imo. If I bring my ds to your child's party- he is getting fed and having fun with friends- I don't need a goody bag too.
I am really trying to convince myself not to do they for ds's birthday next month- but I am feeling the pressure of not doing them!

This is a great idea and you can lay down a tarp under the pinata to try to contain the candy/stickers to one area for easy clean-up.

Re: Last minute favor advice, please!
I envision mass chaos with that many kids and one pinata. Sorry to be a debbie downer! LOL.
How about a pumpkin hand stamp for each kid and a balloon? Or 1 pumpkin sticker for each kid and a balloon? Would 5-8 year olds even be happy with that? Maybe they'd like tattoos instead?
As a parent, I honestly wouldn't even care if my child got a party favor.

if you want favors stick to candy..... so many trinkets get thrown away...
