With DS he was pretty hands on in the beginning. I EBFd so he would do all middle of the night diaper changes and then I'd nurse. He was off for like 2 weeks when DS was born. When he went back to work the middle of the night help ended.

Same with my twins. But when he was home he has always been pretty good about entertaining the kids in the morning so I can get some house stuff done without 3 kids constantly under foot.

On nights he wasn't working he would sleep with her in the livingroom so I could get a full night's sleep in the bedroom

If we were both in the bedroom we would take turns with the night feedings.

It was hard because he worked nights and an awful schedule- but he really did help out 50/50 when he was home wiht everything from feedings to diaper changes etc

i was on the same page as you - still am! Since DH cant really help with pumping or nursing, he tries to help iwth everything else for the most part. He comes home late - so when he does he just gets out of his work clothes and takes the baby. He plays w him, puts him in his pjs while i usually make dinner or whatever i need to do at that time. I hold DS when DH is eating, and then DH usually ends up going to bed shortly after.

Hubby helped in everyway possible. While I BF he'd leave me be or just keep me company cause GOD I got bored pumping. I HATED it. If she was on the breast he'd help me keep her awake (LOL). I supplmented with formula because at first I just couldn't get enough. So he'd fed her. Then after I quit BF he helped there too.

But honestly there's so much to do besides feeding the baby. bath, changing, clothing her, talking to her, holding her, putting her to sleep, covering her, watching her.
