Can I use powder formula and RTF?
At $35 per case/per day, RTF might break the bank. I'm thinking of using the RTF only for overnight feedings. It would be the same formula, just one would be powder.

I do. I alternate between RTF (during the day) and the powder at night. I use the cans of RTF, not the individual nursettes, so it would be annoying for me to go downstairs to warm the bottle up at 4am. So I prepare the water in the bottles before I go to sleep and bring the bottles and powder up to my room. I've become a pro at scooping two scoops in the near dark into the bottle. The powder really isn't that difficult or annoying at all. I can prepare a bottle with the powder in the same time it would take to prepare the RTF, and it is certainly more cost effective.

Oh thats a good idea too! I had planned to use powder later anyway. I have the portion containers already. We are using Dr. Browns so I figured RTF would be easier to fumble with at night than mixing and replacing straws and caps on the Dr. Browns.

Yes! You can also just keep the bottles with room temperature water in them near your bed and put the powder in the to go dispenser and just dump it in and mix it when you need to get up for a feeding!
ETA - lol my response was kinda delayed.

I just bought one Dr. Brown's bottle for DD, we have been using the playtex drop ins. She was very fussy in the beginning, so the ped put her on Alimentum, but I'm not sure if she needs it, so I brought the Dr. Brown's to try with the regular formula. Because Alimentum is so much more money than the regular!

This is why I didn't even bother with other bottles. Everyone swears by Dr. Browns. I figue I'll use the brush then the dishwasher. I have the dishwasher baskets too for all the parts. I figure bottles with a million pieces will be the least of my worries with 2 babies. lol. I tested it out last night to see how I'd mix it in the bottle without the straw and it doesnt look too bad.

the dishwasher baskets were a life saver. We used to just soak the dirty parts in soapy water until ready to do the sink and dishwasher this way the formula doesn't get caked on and harder to clean.
In the very begining we did the rtf at night. We had gotten a coupon for free ones (2 yrs ago) so thats why we did it. Then with the recall on powder we used rtf for a bit then back to powder. DD had no issues
