if u tried cio...?
How long total in one night did u do it before you gave up? We did a total of about 16 or so minutes and by that time the snot was flying and hoarse screaming. Ds is 5 and a half months. So I gave up and swaddled him and put him back in his rnp

i think you did the right thing...
b/c of his age, he is still a bit young
With DS and DD we waited until they were between 6-9 months. i tried it earlier too but it was too hard and didn't work.
when they were a little older thankfully it worked very well.
i was lucky that it didn't take long and they didn't cry for hours.
good luck and hang in there!
i know there has been a lot of negative talk about CIO on the boards lately but it does work for many and it doesn't have to be a traumatic thing for everyone!

Was he unswaddled for the first time when you tried CIO?
Are you trying to break the swaddle habit?
We waited until they were about 7 months (but 5 adjusted so 5 1/2 mos doesn't seem that young).
