Anyone not go back to work after baby?
Anyone ever decide to not go back to their job after maternity leave? How soon did you let them know? How did you approach them? What reasoning did you give your job? You can FM if you don't want to say it here. TIA !

Anyone not go back to work after baby?
I was supposed to go back after 6 months. At 4 months PP I decided to stay home and I let them know as soon as I knew. I just told them honestly that I could not go back because i wanted to be with my child. I went to lunch with my manager to let her know.

Re: Anyone not go back to work after baby?
Yes...i called my boss about 3 weeks before i was supposed to go back. I told him my husband and I did the numbers and financially it made no sense for me to go back to work.
Won't lie it was awkard but we are on good terms now.
I did offer to go back to work for a week or two..but i only ended up going back for one day to pack up.
I worked for another girl too, she never returned any of my calls or emails..guess i pissed her off with the way i left....Oh well, i really don't give a flying fig what she thinks of me, i'll never need her as a reference. Never did that much work for her anyway.
Staying home has been challenging, but i wouldn't have it any other way.
Good luck to you!!!

Re: Anyone not go back to work after baby?
Not during leave. I did it a few months bck. Two other girls that were prego in the office same time I was came back a day then left. We were in different departments. I was nervous at first, but called my manager and sort of said... It's too hard to juggle right now. Between the commute and hours I'm not coming so far ahead. Asked about any raises then asked about working from home. I knew the answers already and had my mind set. I said since its too much and not worth it. I've been with the co 13 years and not getting anywhere so I'm giving my 2 weeks. Was the best decision I ever made. I love being home. Days fly and we keep so busy I have no clue how I had time to work. Lol
I do plan on doing a little something extra for income eventually and would also love to get my masters one day. Right now my time with my 1 and 3 yr old is perfect.

Re: Anyone not go back to work after baby?
I called my boss about 3 weeks before I was supposed to return from leave and just told her that it was a hard decision, but that I felt the best thing for my family was to stay at home.
They were sad to see me go, but completely understood my decision and were totally supportive. They paid out the rest of my maternity leave, as well as my vacation time.
It's definitely the best choice I've ever made.

I did not go back after maternity leave. DH got a new job out of state so I used that as my excuse.
