What do I need for DD for fall/winter?
DD will be 4 months on Thursday. I got spoiled by having a summer baby who I could just keep in a onesie or sundress all day. We have since moved to sleep and plays and light jackets most of the time, along with light weight hats. Now that it's getting cooler out, please tell me what some necessities are that I need for the cold weather. I have a JJ Cole car seat cover, and tons of blankets. I know that we aren't supposed to bundle them up too much because it interferes with the car seat straps. Please tell me the layers that you use for your DC in the cold weather and anything you think I might need. TIA!

I would pay close attention to your DD and see if she likes as many layers ad you think she might need. I ended up over layering DS at night with a onesie, footed sleeper and a sleep sack. All he wanted was the footed sleeper and the sleep sack. He was too warm with three layers. Of course on bitterly cold nights he got three layers. The above was for at night. During the day my kids wore clothing at 4 months old. So it was an undershirt, shirt and pants. Then the bundle me in the stroller or car.

I am wondering this too. DD is 6 months and I have started buying some fall clothes for her but I'm really not sure what to get in the way of jackets and winter clothes.

I had this for my oldest dd and just for another one for my second daughter. They aren't really bulky at all so you can wear them in the carseat. Old navy has something similar that I just ordered but I haven't received it yet. You need hats, I like the ones that velcro under the chin because they don't pull them off.

I dress my girls in clothes everyday, so they wear a lot of jeans, or velour pants, leggings, and than long sleeve shirts. I always put undershirts underneath when the cool weather comes. Some moms like to keep their lo in pjs so you could just put them in a onsie and a fleece pj too.

It really depends in your DD. my DS is a hot kid and as a newborn last winter he was just ever in sleep n plays and fleece footsie pjs.
He never slept in more and going out we just used blankets

I totally agree. I feel our natural instinct is to bundle them up. We found that DD was very hot and would literally be soaked in sweat if we put too many layers. Last winter she slept mostly in cotton carter's pjs and nothing else. IMO, unless you're going to be outside you don't need to go too crazy with layers and such.

I. Never basked her too much. She would wear a onside under her pants and long sleeve shirt and then blankets on top in the carseat. On really cold days I would put her an cover up fleece like the one linked above. I never felt like she was too cold or too hot. And of course a hat.

Oh and at night reg cotton pjs, with indie if really cold, and a cotton sleepsacks. We always keep her room around 72 so that's perfect for her.

I have a feeling that my DD will be like this too. She already sweats in the car seat as it is.
Thanks everyone!

for ds we layered a s/s onesie underneath his footed pj, overnight we then added a sleep sack since we didn't use blankets yet....
I do remember fleece/terry pj's being too hot for him though. I think overnight we lowered temp to 66( during day was like 68-70)

Last winter DD was around your DDs age. I put her in cotton sleep and plays with socks underneath and a fleece sleep sack in the winter for night time. I used the Carters sleep sacks that have the long sleeves on them. Carters had this thin but super warm teddy bear like jacket. It was ultra thin, so it worked well with the car seat. And then i just put a blanket over her to go back and forth between the car. I also liked the hats that have the pieces that cover the ears. And as far as clothes, I liked the sets that had fleece pants and vests over a onesie. This way the vest could be added or taken off, depending on if she was cold or not.
