Question for those who did not BF at all-
I am 5 days PP (c/s) and DD has been EFF. I put my bra on at day 2 (in hospital) and don't take it off. I've been "icing" my boobs with frozen peas (probably not as often as I should) and starting yesterday late afternoon, I put cabbage leaves in my bra- today I was diligent about changing them out (as they wilted) for a good straight 5 hrs. I did it a few other times, but didn't change it out (just had nothing).
My question is this- when will it be safe to go braless (at night and in shower)?
TIA!

Question for those who did not BF at all-
Bra less at night was probably 2 weeks because I was still sore, in the shower was probably close to that too but probably could have done without it sooner.

Re: Question for those who did not BF at all-
I wore my bra for 10 days, but took it off when I showered. I also iced them to relieve the pain.

Ditto. Never showered with a bra on. Wore it at all other times though. I am never comfy without a bra though. Even now.

Re: Question for those who did not BF at all-
I wore just a flimsy bra at night and I used BFing pads. I was comfortable that way and I did not care if the process took a bit longer. I did leak but DH cleaned everything. If anything it gave me some relief from being engorged.

Oh God you just brought back such painful memories!
I ended up binding them using ace bandages meant for your thigh so I didn't wear a bra during the day. I looked like a flat chested boy anyway. At night I wore 2 sports bras and a tank with a built in bra. It lasted for about a week. BRUTAL. Does the cabbage work? I never tried that.

I can't tell too much if the cabbage is working or not. I can tell you that my bras & I stink! I'm putting in frozen cabbage leaves & change them out when the wilt. Problem is I feel like they wilt just after I put them in!
I just can't wait for this part to be over.

Wore sports bra w. BF pads until my boobs felt better.
Never showered with a bra. I would stay in the shower extra long just to have the hot water hit my boobs...it felt so good. I heard that the hot water would help with the pain Not sure but it did for me.

The cabbage leaves definitely helped- I feel like in 2 days of using them I felt SOOO much better. I do remember checking under the couhces thinking the cats pooped out of their liter box and smelling DD's diaper every 5 minutes- until i realized the stench was ME!

Re: Question for those who did not BF at all-
i was severely engorged to the point of almost getting a infection- i wore a sports bra, and cabbage leaves helped tremendously. i didnt wear a bra in the shower but made sure it wasn't hot and tried not to get them wet(this caused them to be stimulated and worse)
